Jyukugo Japanese words and Japanese phrases
Pronunced "Bushido"
Bushido, means the "Way of the Warrior" and is a Japanese code of conduct and a way of life. This meaning is close to that of the European concept of chivalry.
Nitobe Inazo, in his book "Bushido: The Soul of Japan," describes Bushido as, "...Bushido, then, is the code of moral principles which the samurai were required or instructed to observe... More frequently it is a code unuttered and unwritten... It was an organic growth of decades and centuries of military career."




Yuki
YUKI means "courage." The meaning of the fisrt Kanji character means "brave", and the second Kanji character means "energy" or "aura."
Unmei
Unmei means "destiny." The meaning of the first Kanji character is "carry", and the second character means "life."
Jinsei
Jinsei means "one's life." The meaning of the first Kanji character is "person" and the following character means "life."
Shin-nen
Shin-nen means "one's belief." The meaning of the first Kanji character means "belief", and the following character means to "pray." To live up to one's beliefs.
Hayashi
Hayashi means "musical band."
Syukyu
Syukyu is the old way of saying "soccer"(the term soccer is most used in present times).
